Housing
❖ Basics
Information about each of the housing options and where characters are located:
We ask that, upon acceptance to the City, all players fill out where their character will be living. As a default, whatever sin you chose to represent your character is the district where your character will start. If you would later like to move, simply edit your comment below with the revised information.
All character residence information can be found here. Please make sure that you pick an empty residence as listed on the spreadsheet and reply below.
Starting Locations
The following are residences available for characters just arriving in the City. These are free of charge to those who arrive in them and remain in a character’s possession regardless of where they move to after the fact.
The Red Lantern District (Lust):
↠ The Red Currant
An expansive example of exactly the pleasures that the Red Lantern District offers, the Red Currant is a high-rising hotel with a brick facade and interior decorations that could only be described as exotic and red. Each floor boasts ten hotel rooms, each with a bonus kitchenette and a small bathroom, and a larger, shared bathroom at the end of the hall. There is a bar set up on the main level, catering to residents, travellers, and other citizens as necessary, and it's always a bustling place. Without a doubt, the Red Currant is the place to go if you need a discreet place to stay for a few days, or if you just want to slip away with someone for an afternoon.![]()
The Gardens of Pleasure (Gluttony):↠ Periwinkle Street
With a good selection of boutiques and cafes on the lower level, Periwinkle Street boasts a good number of loft apartments on the upper levels of each of its buildings. They range from three to six stories, each with two or three units on each floor. Each unit is done up in a cozy fashion, making residents already feel at home right from their very first day there, and the proximity to shopping or pleasure of any form is to die for.![]()
Finance Street (Greed):↠ Stonehedge Street
A street made up entirely of brownstone residences and commercial spaces alike, Stonehedge Street is an elegant spot in the City. Its cozy elegance speaks to the sort of upper-class individuals the district prefers to cater to. Each brownstone residence is three stories high, and what they don't have in width, they have in length, boasting a substantial amount of space. It's a quiet neighbourhood, generally separate from the goings-on of the rest of the City.![]()
Leisurebrook (Sloth):↠ Shady Oaks Inn
Though described as an inn, the Shady Oaks complex is really more of an apartment building; residents are often permanent, renting out their rooms for lengthy periods of time. Standing strong at four stories high, Shady Oaks is host to twenty historic units, each with a view of the waterfront. On the main level, there's a small bistro that serves a wonderful all-day breakfast.![]()
The Coliseum District (Wrath):↠ St John's on Second
A three-story walk-up apartment building, St John's is located in the heart of the Coliseum district, giving residents an excellent view of the Coliseum proper. With a handful of studio apartments and a selection of shared amenities including a shooting range on the bottom level, the building might not speak to elegance, but it certainly displays a certain sort of minimalist lifestyle.
↠ Rosebay Manor
A tidy-looking, five-story building located a bit closer to the centre of the City, Rosebay Manor is host to a number of small, comfortable studio apartments. There are a few shops on the bottom level, including a cafe and a flower shop, and it provides a pleasant place to live for those who don't ask for much.![]()
Shantytown (Envy):↠ Kingcup Place
Despite its rather elegant name, Kingcup Place is long past its expiry date. It had never been a popular place, even in its day, and caters primarily to junkies and prostitutes in all the lower-level rooms. The second - and only other - level of rooms are reserved for motel-goers and others, providing room and board for anyone who might need it. There's a layer of dirt and grime on the walls, and the carpet most certainly didn't start that colour. As well, residents are warned not to complain if they see bugs or rodents, for management already knows about them.![]()
The Tower (Pride):↠ Magnolia Tower
One of the main (and biggest) condominiums in the district, Magnolia Tower is an elegant, sleek building in the centre of the City, putting residents in one of the most beautiful, convenient locations possible. Sitting at 36 stories, with over 60 units available, Magnolia Tower boasts the pinnacle of class: glass and steel are the foci of this luxury building, with emphasis on modern, minimalist decor and custom detailing.![]()
Additional Locations
The following are residences available for characters to relocate into. These residences must be rented or purchased (this can be handwaved) for a reasonable amount. The above starter locations are also available for purchase or rental. If you have any questions, feel free to drop the moderators a line with whatever concerns or clarifications you may need.
Leisurebrook (Sloth):↠ Chicory Way
A lovely, out-of-the-way residential area in the heart of Leisurebrook, Chicory Way is just a little bit further from the waterfront than some of the businesses and tourist stays, but no less lovely. It is home to a string of family homes, ranging from smaller bungalows on one end of the street to larger, three-story homes on the other. There's a park at the far end of the street, and the rest of the street is lined with trees that give the road itself a canopy of shade. Though finding a lot of children in the City is highly unlikely, if you were to see one, here would be the place.![]()
The Coliseum District (Wrath):↠ Petunia Avenue
Located near the forested edge of the City, and with the trees overhanging to prove it, this street boasts a handful of small to mid-sized homes, perfect for those who prefer a bit of solitude.![]()
