The City: World Information
World Information |
Information about The City and its many locations:
General Information
The City once used to have another name, now as forgotten as the plans and schemes of the entities that used to rule it. The newfound City is large, encompassing seven districts, each with an alleged "theme" and each with a Magistrate all their own. It is both timeless and new at the same time, in the way that only sprawling, large cities seem to be.
The Red Lantern District is an area where clubs and brothels share space. The Gardens of Pleasure is a shopping district, rife with restaurants and high-end boutiques where anything at all can be had for a price. Finance Street is lined with brokerage firms, banks and casinos. Leisurebrook has inns, bed and breakfasts, hotels, and internet cafes. The Coliseum is filled with gymnasiums as well as its namesake, where one can view no-holds-barred battles between the city's residents, and also - aptly enough - where the Police Station is located. Shantytown is a run-down area of the city near the docks, filled with warehouses and stifling poverty.
Anything a person could ever want can be found in the City, if only one knows exactly where to look, and is willing to pay the right price.
While it doesn't look that old, the City does have modern amenities, like you might have found in most large cities on Earth in modern times, and it seems to change and adapt with the times, almost as though it’s well aware of exactly what’s going on outside its bounds. Whispers and influences have always filtered into the City; one might suddenly see electric cars on the streets or that communications devices are getting smaller and faster.
It is roughly circular, edging a waterfront, and there is a bustling port in the Shantytown district. It takes approximately half an hour in good traffic - which isn't always the case, of course - to drive from one end to the other, and has a radius of roughly 15 miles from the central point of the Tower proper.
The City
The Sins
Lust
An intense and uncontrolled desire. It is usually thought of as uncontrolled sexual wants, however, the word was originally a general term for desire. Therefore, lust could include the uncontrolled desire for money, food, fame, or power.Gluttony
The overindulgence and overconsumption of anything to the point of waste. The word derives from the Latin gluttire, to gulp down or swallow. In Christianity, it is considered a sin if the excessive desire for food causes it to be withheld from the needy. Because of these scripts, gluttony can be interpreted as selfishness; essentially placing concern with one's own interests above the well-being or interests of others.Greed
Like lust and gluttony, greed is a sin of excess. However, greed (as seen by the Church) is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of material possessions. As defined outside of Christian writings, greed is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs, especially with respect to material wealth.Sloth
Can entail different vices. While sloth is sometimes defined as physical laziness, spiritual laziness is emphasized. Failing to develop spiritually will lead to becoming guilty of sloth. In the Christian faith, sloth rejects grace and God. Sloth, under the older sin of Acedia, has also been defined as a failure to do things that one should do, a failure to utilize one's talents and gifts. By this definition, evil exists when good men fail to act.Wrath
Also known as rage, wrath may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. Wrath, in its purest form, presents with self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke feuds that can go on for centuries. Wrath may persist long after the person who did another grievous wrong is dead. Feelings of anger can manifest in different ways, including impatience, revenge, and self-destructive behaviour.Envy
Like greed and lust, envy is characterized by an insatiable desire. Envy is similar to jealousy in that they both feel discontent toward someone's traits, status, abilities, or rewards. The difference is the envious also desire the entity and covet it. "Neither shall you desire... anything that belongs to your neighbour." Envy can be described as "sorrow for another's good".Pride
The original and most serious of the seven deadly sins: the source of the others. It is identified as believing that one is essentially better than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others and excessive admiration of the personal self; it also includes vainglory, which is unjustified boasting. Dante's definition of pride was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbour".
The Districts
For further details on the Magistrates of each District, please refer here.
The Red Lantern ( Lust )
Rife with brothels and boisterous late-night clubs catering to every kind of excess, the Red Lantern District is a monument not just to sex, but to every kind of intense desire. While this district generally stays clean and in good repair, you may be solicited by one of the many prostitutes working the streets or higher-end brothels as you try to leave or arrive at your home. There are drug pushers, pimps, and street-corner salesmen who claim to be able to get you anything you desire almost everywhere. Do remember that they may be just claims if you don’t feel like owing an intense debt. The Gardens of Pleasure ( Gluttony )
Often just called "The Gardens" for short, this is the primary shopping district for the City, filled with shops from tiny holes in the wall with odd curios to luxurious stores with jewelry and designer clothes. It's not out of the ordinary to find a five or six-story mall slotted into an entire city block, set up next to mom-and-pop stores. Anything and everything can be bought for a price here, although the more illicit goods are generally either under the counters, traded in back rooms, or else directed to the Red Light District instead. There are also restaurants of every kind, from vendors serving street tacos from hotplates on the corner to gourmet five-star "event dining" locations. Suffice it to say, you could eat in a different place every night, and there would still be new places to try.Finance Street ( Greed )
Brokerage houses and a sleek stock exchange building line the main corridors of this district, in place of anything that anyone might want to use on the regular. It's a very certain type of person who does business in Finance Street, but money can most certainly be made. One can also find banks for holding accounts or obtaining loans, or even the odd casino or betting house, for those who would like to try their luck going for big payouts. It’s a very rigid, proper kind of place, and not necessarily as inclined towards letting loose, but there’s still the odd place to go for a good night out if you know where to look.Leisurebrook ( Sloth )
Leisurebrook is the "resort" part of the City, where people who aren't trapped there travel to. Located on the waterfront end of the city that is not occupied by the port, it has boating and yacht facilities. There are quaint bed and breakfast inns and higher-end hotels, and internet cafes for those without digital access, while coffee shops and bookstores dot the area, one on nearly every corner. It’s also perhaps the most welcoming of all the districts, though that’s not really saying much. The Coliseum District ( Wrath )
The dominating feature of this district is the Coliseum itself, where people can do battle with each other or with some of the more unusual creatures summoned up by people in the City for an eager audience for pay. This district also houses the lone Police Department for the City and has a wide array of gyms where people can hone their bodies and their skills. There are gun shops and ranges available as well, for those who prefer a more ranged attack. Suffice to say, violence is the name of the game here.Shantytown ( Envy )
It isn't just about wanting, it's about wanting something that someone else has and this part of the City is a monument to the feeling of being kept down for unfair reasons. The money that flows freely to the other districts seems absent here: the buildings are crumbling, and low-quality motels and even a tent city for the City's less fortunate exist here surrounding the port. There is very little to be found of any worth, though there's the odd pawn shop to be found here and there, running off the neediest of people. Despite this, the hands-on Magistrates seem to keep the worst predators in check...most of the time. The Tower District ( Pride )
The Tower itself is the primary point of interest here; visible from all parts of the City, its gleaming spire is lit at all times. The surrounding high-rise buildings are dwarfed by their height. Most of the City's minor administrators live here in various luxury apartments and penthouse suites, except for the Magistrates that largely live in their own districts. As the City's center, all government offices are housed in the lower and mid-levels of the Tower. The rest of the district is filled up with luxury restaurants, clubs, and coffee houses, all of which seek to suit the expensive tastes of the citizens who reside there.

Job Listing
To apply for a job, simply locate the correct location and post a comment to it with the following form:
THE CITY
Coliseum District; The City Police Department
DISTRICT: Coliseum District, halfway between the Coliseum proper and the Tower proper.
TYPE: A relatively nondescript, surprisingly large building, with stonework on the outer walls and an oddly modern interior.
NOTES:
As the main hub for all anti-criminal activity in the City, the Police Department's main station is a relatively innocent looking building. It looks like most others in the district, not taking the time to really call any attention to itself if it can help it: it is, effectively, a building undercover. Slightly taller than some of the other buildings in the district, the station is roughly four stories high, with offices for the various detectives and officers on the top three levels, a ground level for interrogations, reception, and the like, and a basement that serves as archives, forensics, and jail alike. Though the exterior is brick, the inside is surprisingly light: the walls are painted white, and there are plenty of windows to keep the space from getting too dark inside. All things considered, it's a fairly nice little place. There is an additional jailing facility located just outside city limits for housing criminals for extended periods of time.

Role: Forensics Tech
Finance Street; Highgarden Shelter
DISTRICT: Finance Street, very near to the border of the Tower District.
TYPE: A shelter for homeless and other unfortunates, set up in one of many brownstones.
NOTES:
Started by Margaery Tyrell, currently run by the City until her possible return. The Highgarden Shelter serves as a base for those less fortunate to get away from their lives for a short time and not have to worry about food or a roof over their heads. It plays host to numerous smaller rooms - most of which are little more than a warm bed - as well as communal eating areas, all decorated in a cosy, warm way that practically invites people inside. The goal is to provide a warm meal and place to stay for all in need, and it succeeds. Set up in a large brownstone on one of the main streets of Finance Street, it has plenty of space, as well as Magistrate backing to give it that much more credibility.

Re: Finance Street; Highgarden Shelter
Coliseum District; The City Public Library
DISTRICT: Coliseum District, near the edge close to Finance Street
TYPE: A grandiose building that seems both cozy and welcoming to all.
NOTES:
Though it's not quite as grand a landmark as the Coliseum itself, the Public Library is definitely up there. It's one of the nicer buildings in the district, made of sandstone, expansive and made up of numerous stories of available books and research space. Each level boasts high ceilings and stacks upon stacks of books, organized on high bookcases set in aisles, making it rather easy to get lost. They are relatively organized, if you know how to search through them, but curiously enough, there's nothing to be found on the City itself. Not a single word. Anything else, though? That can be found.
VISUALS: Exterior; Interior, Study Carrels
Re: Coliseum District; The City Public Library
Red Lantern District; Dangerous Curves
DISTRICT: Red Lantern District, located centrally on the border of the Tower District.
TYPE: An elegant-looking gentlemen's club and burlesque room.
NOTES:
Located in a large, striking stone building with a rather dramatic interior, Dangerous Curves manages to make an impression right from the entrance, which is made up of a large staircase leading up to two heavy wooden doors. The club speaks to a higher-class clientele, and caters to them all over two stories covered in dark woods and weathered metals, with leather couches and chairs. Additionally, there's a main stage styled after old-fashioned theater, complete with a heavy curtain. Performers of all types flock to the club, as it offers up a variety of different styles, rather than just the standard 'exotic dancer'. The Lovers have been noted to invest in it periodically.
Further details can be found here.
VISUALS: Upstairs Interior, Upstairs Bar
Leisurebrook; Leisurebook
DISTRICT: Leisurebrook, in a roughly central location, slightly nearer to the border of Finance Street.
TYPE: A quaint, two-story bookstore with a faded yellow shopfront.
NOTES: Owned by Steve Rogers.
It looks like it was squeezed between a matching pair of sandy stone walls that belong to the shops and buildings beside it. On the second level, there's a door that opens up onto an iron wrought balcony, decorated with a few small chairs; it's shaded by a delicate canopy that adds to the quaint, faded yellow storefront. There's a bright blue sign reading Leisurebook in shiny cursive lettering. On the ground floor, French windows show at a glance that what the store lacks in width, it has in length. Dark mahogany bookshelves line 90% of the walls, all filled with a wide variety of assorted genres of books; a metal spiral staircase in the back right corner of the shop leads up to the second level, equally filled. The other 10% of the visible walls is occupied by a countertop and register, but even behind that sits a glass case with the store's first editions neatly set on display.
VISUALS: Rear Area of Interior
Leisurebrook; The Steam Room
DISTRICT: Leisurebrook, located centrally on the water's edge.
TYPE: An adorable seaside cafe with slightly obnoxious decorations that veer towards a grandmother's cottage.
NOTES:
The Steam Room is a popular hangout for the young citizens of the City. It's got gorgeous views, waitresses who seem to enjoy their job, and the best waffles around. It might be a small, quaint little place, with one too many floral curtains for any one place, but the food's excellent and the decor is easily ignored.
VISUALS: Counter
Gardens of Pleasure; The Nook
DISTRICT: Gardens of Pleasure, located an equal distance from the borders of the Tower District, Shantytown, and the Red Lantern District.
TYPE: An arty cafe / lounge located, fitting, in a bit of a nook just below street level.
NOTES:
A little hole-in-the-wall cafe and lounge, The Nook is probably open every hour of every day without fail. It's one of those places that people have come to rely upon for either their coffee, their spiked coffee, or their straight alcohol, as well as all sorts of delightful Asian fusion cuisine. Like many places in the Gardens, it focuses on one thing and does it really well - not surprisingly, it's almost never less than half-full. The interior is dim, and generally unsure if it would prefer to be a proper lounge or an actual cafe: the seats are all nicely upholstered leather in deep browns, backlit by a small line of bright lights hidden just behind the edge to give the place a light glow that did come from above, and the tables are all warm woods. Somehow, though, it manages to look put together, and acts as an upscale hang-out for the City's citizens. Additionally, they tend to hang local artists' work on the walls, always available for sale.
VISUALS: Lounge Area, Lounge Area 2
Gardens of Pleasure; The Alley Cat
DISTRICT: Gardens of Pleasure, located right near the corner where the Gardens meets Shantytown.
TYPE: A very simple, middle-of-the-road bar with few exciting draws.
NOTES:
The Alley Cat is a place for those who want to disappear into a crowd to go. It’s not the nicest place in the world, but neither is it exactly the worst. In fact, most people don’t even realize it’s there; however, it still manages to have plenty of regulars. It plays host to pool tables, darts, and plenty of table space for people to mingle and hang out, along with a long bar across the back of the room for those who prefer to sit alone.
VISUALS: Bar
Gardens of Pleasure; The Rising Sun
DISTRICT: Gardens of Pleasure, located on the border of the Red Lantern District, nearest to the Tower District.
TYPE: A supernaturally-run tattoo parlor with a crisp, very clean, and welcoming atmosphere.
NOTES:
Ran by demons until leased by Maggie Finnegan. The Rising Sun is a very nice, well-kept shop that caters to the slightly strange side of the City. This is a place where your tastes will never be questioned, and any request will be filled, even those that may not be, strictly speaking, legal. Though no one talks about what goes on in the back rooms, everyone who leaves walks out happy, and often with a very beautiful tattoo.
VISUALS: Interior, Ink Studio
Red Lantern District; The Wiggle Room
DISTRICT: Red Lantern District, close to the edge of the Tower District.
TYPE: A classy burlesque club, known for its brothel-esque atmosphere and high-end clientele.
NOTES:
In direct contrast to some of the other clubs on the very same street, The Wiggle Room appears surprisingly classy. Its front is lit up with red and gold lights, making it exceedingly visible (and also a little bit bright) to anyone who might approach. It's across the street from a small apartment building, but doesn't just rely upon foot traffic; it has a reputation for being one of the better clubs in the district, and draws people from around the city. Inside, it's decorated in the same palette of red and gold; it tries to be classy, but mostly ends up a little bit too much. The walls are periodically draped with falls of fabric to give it the feel of an exotic brothel-type space, and that's carried through in the throw pillows that decorate the booths that line the edges of the club. The stage is set front and centre and made impossible to miss, while the bar is positioned off to the side, willing to serve all manner of specialty drinks to its patrons.
VISUALS: Entrance, Stage, Seating
Red Lantern District; Le Rideau Rouge
DISTRICT: Red Lantern District, right near the border of the Coliseum District.
TYPE: A gorgeous little brothel with additional performance space for the escorts to show off their skills.
NOTES:
Despite some of its neighbours looking none too nice, Lennox House is a beautiful old four-story building that boasts some of the highest class prostitutes around. The interiors are all done up in deep, royal blues and golds, and always manages to catch the eye of everyone who walks in. Unlike some brothels, there are both women and men working, all of whom are more than happy to satisfy whatever needs a customer might have, sexual or otherwise. There is a small club on the main floor for performances, usually of a burlesque nature, that take place two or three times a week, and for a price, a lucky customer might get his pick of the dancers.
VISUALS: Entry Hall, Stage
Coliseum District; The Bullet Hole
DISTRICT: Coliseum, right near the Police Department.
TYPE: A public shooting range that doesn't try to be anything it isn't.
NOTES:
An expansive one-story building in the Coliseum District, The Bullet Hole tends to be the go-to for most of the off-duty police officers who want to spend a little of their free time practicing their marksmanship. The first floor is host to a professional shooting gallery with 22 stalls, and a private observation section for visitors to keep an eye on the others, and a small shop area in the very front. The basement, which is led down a spiral staircase from the shop area, boasts an obstacle course and open range for law enforcement training exercises and competition matches. It's one of the more industrial-looking buildings on the block, and is a very clean, sterile white on the inside, with concrete floors.
VISUALS: Private Range, Open Range
Re: Coliseum District; The Bullet Hole
Role: Attendant & Instructor
Coliseum District; The Outlaw
DISTRICT: Coliseum, located a little closer towards the forest edge of the City, north of the Coliseum proper.
TYPE: A blue-collar bar that boasts a very nice selection of bourbon and whiskey.
NOTES:
Located a few blocks away from St John's on Second, The Outlaw is a small, no-frills drinking establishment with a vaguely western theme, catering to a rougher clientèle than some of the upscale bars around; mostly fans and fighters from the Coliseum. It offers a limited menu of typical bar food, plus a couple of pool tables and dart boards available for friendly competitions. Legal services also available.
VISUALS: Exterior; Interior, Bar, Pool Table
Coliseum District; The Coliseum
DISTRICT: Coliseum, near the forested edge of the City.
TYPE: A massive arena visible from most points in the City simply due to size.
NOTES:
Best resembling the famous coliseum of ancient times, the City's Coliseum plays host to similar carnage. Volunteers (and sometimes criminals) can be found either under their own names or under stage names, working their way to the top through a series of one-on-one battles. Rarely are they to the death, but sometimes, the crowd wants a little blood. Fighters are paid if they volunteer or choose to work there. There is a bit of gambling involved, so fighters can get more money for throwing a fight now and then.
VISUALS: Exterior; Example of a Battle

Finance Street; The Red Lion
DISTRICT: Finance Street, slightly nearer to Leisurebrook.
TYPE: A high-class pub that elevates average food and drink to new heights.
NOTES:
Known as one of the classier locales to get a pint and some decent food, the Red Lion boasts a warm, cozy interior, rather reminiscent of the traditional pubs found in England. Surfaces are made of carved wood, and the ceilings boast thick exposed wooden beams on both levels of the two-story public house. Larger tables can easily be found, as can more intimate booths tucked away in corners, and, of course, the food is to die for. Partly owned by investors Charles Xavier-Malfoy and Draco Malfoy-Xavier.
VISUALS: Exterior; Interior
Coliseum District; The Blind Beggar
DISTRICT: Coliseum, near the Police Department.
TYPE: A mid-level pub that caters to the working class while providing an inviting atmosphere.
NOTES:
Generally known as a good place to blow off a little steam after work, the Blind Beggar provides good drinks, good food, and good atmosphere to anyone who comes through its doors. Locals know it as a great hang-out with relatively low-key patrons, perhaps due in part to the proximity to the police station: it's not often known for its bar fights.
VISUALS: Bar, Sitting Area, Dartboards
Gardens of Pleasure; The Backyard Market
DISTRICT: Gardens of Pleasure, in the corner nearest the borders of the Tower District and Leisurebrook.
TYPE: A classy farmer's market filled with locally grown vegetables, herbs, and fruit.
NOTES:
Despite the City's tendency to import all manner of things from parts unknown, there is a small group of people who come together to sell all sorts of organic produce to those who might want it, with the addition of cheese, eggs, milk, or honey, among other things floating in as available. Prices run along the usual level for organic: pricey, but not overly so. It's a relatively organised affair, set up permanently in what used to be a parking lot. There's a market open every day from 6 am until noon offering the normal wares, and in the evenings from 5 pm until 8 pm. The evenings periodically boast wine tastings or pairing sessions at one or two of the booths.
VISUALS: Vegetables, Fruit, Herb Garden
The Tower; The Tower
DISTRICT: Tower, located at the very central point of the City
TYPE: a modern, high-rise skyscraper set to act as the main focal point of the City.
NOTES:
Though it plays host to a number of minor businesses and offices, everything within the Tower is tightly controlled by the Duchess. On the ground level is a two-story ballroom used for Magisterial events, and the majority of the office spaces above are used for some sort of administrative purpose. There are accountants, lawyers, assistants, engineers, and whatever else you can think of. At the very top level, the Duchess resides. Because of this, there's also very tight security, and few people can get in without an actual appointment.
VISUALS: Exterior; Offices, Offices 2, Executive Office
Coliseum District; Courthouse
DISTRICT: Coliseum District
TYPE: Extremely recognizable government building, recently rebuilt
NOTES: The City's courthouse has an office is a wing for the attorney's within the Courthouse itself.
VISUALS: Exterior Courtroom
The Tower; The Lounge
DISTRICT: Tower District, fairly close to the central Tower
TYPE: A very upscale jazz lounge.
NOTES:
Catering almost entirely to the wealthy clientele of the Tower and surrounding area, the Lounge is everything it initially appears to be: it's elegant and extravagant and perhaps a little bit ostentacious. It boasts two levels, the upper offering a bit more privacy than the lower, but neither is any less gorgeous than the other. The music is excellent, the food - the small bites that it offers, that is - is more so, and the drinks are free-flowing. For a price, of course.
VISUALS: Lobby; Bar; Lounge, Upper Lounge
Leisurebrook; Liam's
DISTRICT: Leisurebrook, on property overlooking the water
TYPE: Cafe/bar
NOTES: Owned by Steve Rogers
There's a nautical theme! Seriously, overloaded on the ship-related stuff here. The menu consists entirely of food that would have been eaten by sailors (don't worry, there's still fresh food and vegetables and stuff), and the employees all have job titles akin to the titles they would have on a ship's crew: since he's the owner/proprietor, he's the Captain (which he is anyway), the assistant manager is the first mate, whoever assists him with the ordering/books is the quartermaster, etc. The decor inside is entirely nautical themed as well, with porthole windows, anchors on the wall, pictures of ships and the sea, etc. Inside his office is a painting of a ship that viewers could swear is named the Jolly Roger, except that can't be because that's not a real ship. There's a sign hanging above the door that simply is painted wood, white letters on a black background: Liam's, with a painted anchor. The bar itself looks like the hull of a ship. There's a brick patio outside, with a few round tables, which will provide an excellent view of the sea when the weather is good. (Sample menu here. Still a work in progress.)
VISUALS: Exterior, Exterior sign, Bar area,, and The Bar
The Gardens of Pleasure; OHM
DISTRICT: the Gardens of Pleasure, bordering on the Leisurebrook and Tower districts.
TYPE: An industrially-themed club with a focus on showcasing local talent.
NOTES: Owned by Devi D.
The building is a blend of styles, prominently featuring an industrial vibe combined with accents of unfinished exposed brick, open ceilings and concrete floors. On the main wall opposing the main entrance, spanning nine feet of wall space, it's impossible to miss the artwork featured there, courtesy of Devi D. Factory windows line the left side, floor to ceiling while the right is split into two levels. Below is the main bar where anyone can order just about any drink they please. Up above is the VIP area, where those on a pre-selected list can enjoy a bit of a quieter atmosphere. Up here, there's another artwork courtesy of Devi, along with numerous comfortable couches and another bar. Down in the basement, there's a recording studio.

The Red Lantern District; The Den of Sin
DISTRICT: the Red Lantern District, closer to the river and the edge of Shantytown.
TYPE: A nightclub for those who want to do more than just dance without fear of judgement.
NOTES:
Though most people believe that the name of the place perfectly describes the interior, there's more to it than that. The Den of Sin boasts an anonymous appeal that few other clubs have, making it feel much more secret and isolated than others. With stark black walls and no windows to speak of, the only light comes from dim light fixtures. The main portion of the club has more couches than one can count, while the second floor plays host to private rooms. It's not abnormal to find couples (or more) in various states of undress in any of the areas, getting to know each other in the most intimate of ways. In fact, it's encouraged.
VISUALS: Bar, Interior
Leisurebrook; The Fairfield Inn
DISTRICT: Leisurebrook, right near the border with the Finance District.
TYPE: A quaint little bed and breakfast that grew bigger and became a small inn.
NOTES: Run by an adorable older couple who are now tending to the property in their retirement.
VISUALS: Exterior, Sample Room
Leisurebrook; City General
DISTRICT: The edge of Leisurebrook, bordering on the Tower
TYPE: A fairly large, modern-looking building with a mostly glass exterior.
NOTES:
The City's main hospital sprawls out on the border between the Tower District and Leisurebrook. Perhaps unsurprisingly for the City, medical care varies greatly depending on your ability to pay for it or which doctor is assigned to you; the prosperous are housed in comfortable private rooms, while those of lesser means crowd into understaffed wards. Still, the medical staff are professional and efficient, if overworked, and they have the skills to save your life - if you can afford it. If not...maybe an arrangement can be reached.
The hospital also features waiting rooms of various sorts, small recreation areas for patients, a cafeteria with varying qualities of hospital food (it's not that great), and, of course, a little shop.

The Gardens of Pleasure; Spade Investigations
DISTRICT: The Gardens of Pleasure
TYPE: Private Investigations
NOTES:
Typical for the area building, the only exception would be the shingle mounted on the brick of the street facing wall. Once inside, it was fairly Spartan. There would be a desk with two chairs for potential clients, with another door leading to a small kitchenette containing a futon with a bathroom to the side. The latter area wouldn’t be privy to most that stopped by.
VISUALS: From the business end
THE ISLAND
Not too far from the coast of the City, there is an island. Though it had always been there and available to the citizens of the City, the Chosen were previously unaware of it. But it's there now, and ferries are running twice daily to this lovely destination. Upon arrival, citizens and Chosen alike may notice a pleasant desire to simply kick back and relax, as though they haven't a care in the world.
Surrounded by beautiful blue waters, the island plays host to sandy beaches, a small resort town, and a large forested area for people to explore. The population on the island is small and about a split between human and demonic. Everyone who lives there appears happy to be there, and they all kick in to create a fantastic sense of community.
The following are locations on the island just outside of the City. If you have created a general location you'd like included, please fill out the following and reply to this comment!
Finance Street; impact
DISTRICT: Financial District bordering Lesirebrook.
TYPE: Art and art studio
NOTES: Owned by Devi D.
The front of the gallery held four windows, two on either side of the door, and was framed in backdrop of starry skies, speckled with brilliant color over an endless black. The sign, 'impact' was all in lowercase letters, but the shine of their chromed alloy popped out on it's background. The dark polished floors of the gallery contrasted nicely against its cream colored walls and railed, adjustable lighting that was suspended a few inches from the ceiling. The walls were covered in art, each displaying a small placard beside them, with whatever other information was available.

Leisurebrook - Flour Power
DISTRICT: Leisurebrook, is located where the Tower and Leisurebrook districts collide.
TYPE: Bakery
NOTES:
MORE THINGS? The décor combines a light industrial flair combined with a dash or three of vintage charm. It is spotless too, as clean as it can possibly be for she has a thing about cleanliness. There is just enough decorations to keep it feeling homey but not enough for clutter.

Coliseum; Quicksilver Arcade
DISTRICT: Coliseum, somewhere centrally located
TYPE: It's a very 1980s feel, with popular arcade games of the time
NOTES: There's also an apartment above it that is Peter's primary residence
